Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

BrainMatch reads nothing from Apple Health, Health Connect, a watch, or any other health app or device. No sleep totals, no step counts, no readings of any kind. The optional "Sleep and steps" permission that earlier versions of the app offered was removed on 24 September 2026, and every total stored under it was deleted.

What BrainMatch does keep comes only from what you tap and write in the app yourself: your answers, your daily check-in, and anything you choose to write. Each kind of data has its own switch in the app (You → Privacy), turning a switch off deletes what it covered, and you can see or export everything stored about you, or delete your account, at any time. We don't buy, receive or infer health data from any other company, source or public record. We never sell any data, and never share it with advertisers or data brokers.

To ask a question or make a request, email [email protected] from the address on your account. We answer within 45 days, usually much sooner, and never charge for a request. If we refuse a request, reply "appeal" and we'll answer within 45 days with the reason; you can also complain to your state attorney general (in Washington: atg.wa.gov).
