Terms of Use

These terms are between you and Turing Creative LLC ("we", "us"), the company that makes BrainMatch. By creating an account or using the app or brainmatch.app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use BrainMatch.

Who can use BrainMatch

• You must be 18 or older.
• One account per person. Keep your sign-in (email codes, passkeys, your phone) to yourself.
• BrainMatch is in beta: features can change, be added or be removed at any time, and things can break. We'll tell you about changes that affect your data before they happen.

What BrainMatch is, and isn't

BrainMatch helps you get to know yourself, helps couples day to day, and learns what makes good matches. It is not therapy, counselling, medical advice or a crisis service, and nothing in it is a diagnosis. The brain map is a way of laying out your answers, not a scan of your brain. We don't promise that anyone is compatible with anyone. If you're in crisis, contact your local emergency services.

Megan, the character in the app, is not an AI: her words are written by our team and her voice is AI text-to-speech recorded in advance. How AI is and isn't used is set out in the [privacy policy](/privacy).

Your content

• What you write, answer and upload (your content) is yours.
• You give us permission to store and process your content **only to run BrainMatch for you and in the ways the [privacy policy](/privacy) describes**, under the choices you make in the app. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except where the privacy policy says otherwise (for example, de-identified matching data you allowed).
• Only share with a partner what you're comfortable sharing. Once your partner has seen something, we can't make them forget it.
• Only upload photos you have the right to share, and don't upload photos of other people without their permission.

Using it kindly and safely

Don't use BrainMatch to:

• harass, threaten, pressure or control anyone, including a partner;
• pretend to be someone else, or link to someone's account without their agreement;
• upload anything illegal, sexual content involving minors, or content that isn't yours to share;
• try to get at data that isn't yours, break our security, overload the service, or copy the app's content or data in bulk (scraping);
• use the app for anything unlawful.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and we'll tell you why unless the law or someone's safety stops us.

Paying for things

BrainMatch is free during the beta. If we ever offer paid features in the app, they'll be sold through the App Store or Google Play using their in-app purchase systems, with the name, length and price shown clearly before you buy. Their terms and refund processes will apply.

Ending things

You can delete your account at any time in Privacy, and that deletes your data as the privacy policy describes. We can end the beta or stop offering BrainMatch; if we do, we'll give you notice and a way to export your data first.

App Store and Google Play

If you downloaded BrainMatch from the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for BrainMatch or its content, has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for it, and isn't responsible for claims about it (including product liability, legal compliance, or intellectual property claims). Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and can enforce them. The same applies to Google for Google Play, under its terms.

The legal part

• BrainMatch is provided "as is" during the beta. To the extent the law allows, we don't make promises beyond these terms, and our liability is limited to [amount / counsel to set]. Nothing here limits rights you have by law that can't be limited, including consumer rights where you live.
• These terms are governed by the laws of [State], United States, unless the law where you live says otherwise.
• We may update these terms; if a change matters, we'll tell you in the app before it applies.
